Welcome to SE Wellbeing. My name is Susan and I am delighted that you have taken the time to visit this site. If you have recently experienced a loss of any kind, perhaps I can help you move through this?

My core training is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), specifically Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT, a form of CBT) which is at the heart of most of the work I do with my clients.

While undertaking my CBT training I also I trained with Cruse Bereavement Care as a bereavement volunteer. There, I felt that I had found my niche in providing support.  Since losing a very close family member several years ago, I often wondered how people generally cope if they  aren't fortunate enough to have a good network around them to carry them through. So I took one of the best decisions of my life and joined Cruse as a volunteer. I discovered that I am truly committed to helping people understand and manage the emotions that accompany loss.

I still work with my local branch, mainly running group sessions. which has been a huge learning curve for me but one which I truly love.

But loss isn't just about close family members of friends. perhaps you have recently lost a job, a relationship you cherished, your sense of identity (possibly since having children?).

All of these losses can generate many overwhelming feelings and that's where our sessions together can help you.

In a one-to-one setting I use this passion, commitment and learning to help you change.  Through my commitment to you, you'll find a neutral place where you can express yourself freely and without judgement. You'll come to understand that you have the ability to tolerate difficulties and the courage to challenge yourself successfully. In challenging your deeply held beliefs, you can begin to establish new thinking and behaviour to help you move through the sense of loss and gain insight into managing your emotional wellbeing.

Throughout our work together I will introduce specific therapeutic concepts where we agree they will enhance your treatment. I will always discuss your needs and preferences with you and respect these. Your care and confidentiality are at the heart of my work.

Thank you for reading this information. If you would like to discuss treatment then please do contact me. I look forward to hearing from you when you are ready to take the next step towards emotional wellbeing.

"I have learnt better coping strategies to manage various situations and my feelings around them. I and my family have already felt the benefits following the CBT course."

"When I was offered counselling I went to see if it could or would help me and it has; with counselling I am on the mend and getting my life back."
